Aaron Trewitt is a composer, percussionist and music educator based in the Dallas-Ft. Worth area. Aaron completed his Bachelors of Music (Education/Percussion specialization) at Southern Methodist University in 2011, where he studied with Doug Howard and Kalman Cherry of the Dallas Symphony Orchestra. Other mentors include Ed Smith, Drew Lang, Jon Lee, Jamal Mohamed, and John Bryant. Aaron has performed in various settings across Texas, including under the baton of Dr. Jack Delaney and Dr. Paul Phillips with the Meadows Wind Ensemble and Meadows Symphony Orchestra respectively.
Aaron's compositions, arrangements and transcriptions include works for solo percussion, percussion ensemble, concert band and digital media. Aaron is a proud Tapspace artist. His works have received positive published reviews in the Percussive Notes journal.
From 2012-2020, Aaron held the position of Assistant Band Director at Trinity Springs Middle School in Keller, TX. He continues to pursue his passion for arts education and outreach.
